Lavender "'The King of Aromatherapy"

Lavender can take much of the credit today for the revival of aromatherapy. It is my favourite Flower and the smell is nostalgic.
Lavender has been used for the healing powers for centuries and is the most popular and important essential oil today.
It seems there are endless uses for lavender: as an insect repellent, sleeping aid, soap, potpourri, shower gels, candles and incense sticks.
The essential oil is used in cosmetics, massage therapy and for treating certain skin conditions as lavender is one of the few essential oils that may be applied undiluted and directly to the skin.
Lavender is effective for treating headaches caused from tension or stress and period pains. Mix approximately 10 drops of lavender essential oil with 1oz of carrier oil such as almond or grape seed and massage into temples and nape of the neck to relieve stress or anxiety and relax the muscles. This will relieve headaches.
If suffering from period pain gently massage some of the oil on the lower back and tummy; it will ease the mental and physical pain as well as balancing your energies.
Lavender’s strong antibacterial action is especially beneficial for the treatment of burns, cuts, acne and other skin problems such as sunburn and damaged skin.
The undiluted oil may be applied directly to the skin to relieve pain incurred by insect bites and stings. If you have a bruise, then gently massage a drop of pure lavender essential oil over the area and then smooth on a small amount of diluted lavender oil. Repeat twice a day and the bruises will disappear within in a couple of days.
One of the most wonderful natural treatments for insomnia, put just a few drops of essential lavender oil on your pillow, and you will enjoy a restful sound sleep.
Too much will cause headaches. Or use some of the very popular lavender ‘sleep stones’ in a dish at your bedside. Remember lavender is physically and emotionally balancing.I myself have been using all these above mentioned remedies and it really works for me.(Pregenant woman please take advice before putting any of this in use)
That's all for now
so long...............
